Mayor Turner Launches 10th Annual Liftoff Houston Startup Business Plan Competition

HOUSTON – Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner announced the launch of the 10th Annual Liftoff Houston Startup Business Competition on Wednesday morning.

The Liftoff Houston Startup Business Competition, sponsored by Capital One Bank and administered by the Houston Public Library (HPL) and the Office of Business Opportunity (OBO), is a professional and educational mentorship program for those with a business mind. ‘company.

The competition will be based on three categories: Service, Product and Innovation. The winner in each category will receive $10,000 in seed capital from Capital One Bank. The competition will take place primarily online at www.liftoffhouston.com.

Participants must meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:

  • Must be in the start-up phase of your business, which means you must have a business idea or have a business that has been in operation for less than a year.

  • Must have an income of less than $10,000.

  • Must live within Houston city limits. Also, if you have a business location, it must be within the Houston city limits.
